The Genetic Diversity Analysis of Tunisian Male Date Palm Cultivars (Phoneix dactylifera L.) Revealed by Phenotypic and Molecular Markers

چکیده
Tunisian oases reveal an important genetic heritage of date palm cultivars, with various qualities use. Since the beginning century, this has evolved to a selective orientation based on monoculture "Deglet Nour," risks causing loss many cultivars. The male is part and so far remains marginalized. Although they are for production cycle, it in context that lies our work study diversity collection pollinators from southern Tunisia. morphological 20 using 45 IPGRI (International Plant Genetic Resources Institute) descriptors showed significant discrimination, similarity index ranging 0.207 0.457, divided them into five groups. use 7 ISSR (Inter Simple Sequences Repeat) primers resulted 64 reproducible bands, which 57 were 90% polymorphic, statistical analysis more or less distances 0.491 0.873. According Mentel test, non-significant weak correlation (r = 0.015) was noted between molecular data. However, processing data by methods generated very correlations. Indeed, SM (Simple matching) coefficient DICE r 0.748, confirms discriminating power markers studying pollinators.

Identification of Genetic Variation of Male and Female Date Palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) Cultivars Using Morphological and Molecular Markers
Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) is a monocot, dioecious and high longevity tropical plant greatly considered due to its high economic importance in Middle East. This investigation was carried out to detect genetic relations among 34 cultivars of Iranian date palm, both males and females, using ISSR markers. Accordingly, total DNA was extracted using CTAB method and was subjected to PCR ampli...
متن کاملNew microsatellite markers for assessment of genetic diversity in date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.)
New primer pairs of genomic DNA microsatellite markers were tested to assess the genetic diversity of eleven date palm genotypes. The results indicated that out of thirty, only seven primers (23.3%) failed to amplify the expected PCR fragments, while thirteen primers (43.3%) amplified monomorphic banding patterns and the remaining ten primers (33.4%) generated polymorphic banding patterns. A to...
متن کاملAssessing Genetic Diversity of Shishi Date Palm Cultivars in Saudi Arabia and Qatar Using Microsatellite Markers
In this study fourteen microsatellite primer pairs were used to study the genetic diversity of Shishi Date palm in Qatar. A total of 32 date palm (15 Shishi cultivar, 10 Khalas and seven male date palms) were collected from Qatar and 5 Shihi cultivars were collected from Saudi Arabia for comparison. The Shishi set collected from Qatar was selected from different regions to represent the gene...
متن کاملGenetic diversity analysis of date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) in the Kutch region of India using RAPD and ISSR markers
First line in abstract should be Date palm is an important fruit crop of the arid and semiarid region. In the present investigation two types of DNA based marker RAPD and ISSR were used to characterize 8 date palm genotypes grown in the Kutch region. Amplification of genomic DNA of 8 genotypes using 13 RAPD analyses yielded 88 fragments, of which 35 were polymorphic, with an average of 2.69 pol...
متن کاملGenetic diversity of Iranian melon cultigens revealed by AFLP markers
Iran is a part of the secondary centre of origin of melons, and therefore, there is a wealth of genetic variation of these species in this country. The Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) marker was applied to investigate the genetic variations among five major Iranian melon cultigens (Cucumis melo) and ‘Ananasi’ as a general well-known cultivar. Ten primer pairs were used on 90 indiv...
